IFP breaks ties with 'corrupt' EFF in KZN
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The IFP says it no longer plans to work with
the EFF in a coalition at any of the KZN municipalities.
The party says it's breaking away from the red berets following what it says has been a futile and frustrating partnership.
The IFP's president Velenkosini Hlabisa addressed the media in Durban on Monday.
" We can only get into an agreement that will be genuine and have values, but with a common target - removing the ANC which has failed our people and get coalition government to pick up the pieces and rebuild ethekwini as well as other communities of our country," he said.
The IFP's Deputy President Mzamo Buthelezi said the EFF is only concerned with lining its pockets through corruption.

"Previously they also tried to convince the IFP, because we were running as the IFP, they wanted to be chairpersons of all the committees that are responsible for all the capital projects. That on its own tells you who the EFF is. If you want to know them you better go and refer to the VBS issue, they are there to just loot, not to serve people."
