IEC urges voters to update their addresses

The Independent Electoral Commission is encouraging all voters' to use the registration weekend to update their addresses on the voters roll.

Numerous by-elections across the country, including ward 13 in AbaQulusi, ward 15 in uMsunduze and ward 65 in eThekwini were postponed last month.
This after independent candidates complained that voters cast votes in areas where they do not live.

Briefing the media in Durban, the IEC's Mawethu Mosery said it's important that the Commission carry the correct address for each voter.
"It is now extremely important that as a voter you check your details on the voters' roll, ensure that you have a proper residential address and where it is not there, you supply descriptions or directions to your home," he said.
