IEC chairperson calls on youth to register to vote

The Independent Electoral Commission Chairperson, Glen Mashinini, held a press briefing at the Mpophomeni Community hall in Howick, in the KZN midlands.
He says although voter registration stations are receiving an influx of people, he wants to see more first time voters.
"Young people please come out and register. This is your constitutional right and local government is about everything that affects you every day from the water you use after you wake up, going to work or school to the roads you use.

"They all fall under local government. So your voice must be heard in a local democracy," he said.
