IEC assures of proper voting procedures

The Independent Electoral Commission says they are working with political parties as well as conducting voter education to address the problem of voters casting votes in areas where they do not live.
There have been concerns following last week's by-elections in Ulundi, Utrecht and Hluhluwe about voters being bussed in from outside wards to cast ballots.
KZN Provincial Electoral Officer Mawethu Mosery has admitted it is a problem.
Mosery says in the past they have had to postpone by-elections in areas including Abaqulusi and the KwaMashu hostel because of the same issue.
''What worries us is where political parties go and organise the incorrect registration. So it's a problem that we've been dealing with and that we've been able to purify the voters roll over the past three years to ensure that people register where they reside,'' he said.
