I just want my baby back: Hibberdene mother
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal and Steve Bhengu
A Hibberdene woman whose 3-month-old baby was taken from her home while she was asleep says she worries about him day and night.
Little Luyanda went missing after his mother's cousin and the man's girlfriend came to visit them on the south coast about three weeks ago.
According to his 21-year-old mother, Vuyisile Smamane, they all fell asleep after watching TV at night.
When she woke up the next morning, her cousin and his girlfriend were gone.
She believes they took her baby.
Investigations have revealed that a young couple, who fit their description, was spotted taking a taxi to Isipingo, south of Durban.
The distressed mother says all she wants is her baby back in her arms.
"Many thoughts go through my mind because I do not know what my baby's abductors are doing to him, wherever they are. He is still very young and these people who I think took him are also young and unemployed. I do not know what they want with him," said Smamane.
"After he was taken, I went to the clinic where I was told that my blood pressure is extremely high and was immediately sent to a hospital in Scottburgh which is where I am still admitted."
