Husband arrested after PMB nurse shot and killed
Police have arrested the husband of a 46-year-old nurse shot and killed in her Pietermaritzburg home.
The woman was shot with a high calibre firearm in Naperville on Friday night. Emergency services say she had already died before they arrived at the scene.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the nurse had just arrived home from work and was still in her uniform when the shooting occurred.
"A case of murder has been opened by police in Pietermaritzburg for further investigation and the matter is still under investigation," he said.
"If we do get enough evidence against him he will then be charged and will appear at the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court tomorrow," Zwane said.
