Hunt continues for driver who sank his car at Richards Bay

The City of uMhlathuze is looking into ways to tighten access and improve security at its local beaches and pools around the city.
This follows an incident that saw a Range Rover driver drift their vehicle along Pelican Island beach on New Years Day.
In videos rotating on social media the car is also seen getting semi-submerged and later towed out of the water.
Municipal spokesperson Mdu Ncalane seriously condemned the incident.

"We are also can look into other means of putting preventative measures for driver who get into these areas."
"We also note that some areas are sensitive in terms of environment so that wil take a bit of time. We are working with police to make necessary arrests.
