Human trafficking trio sentenced in Durban Magistrate's Court

Three men who were found guilty of human trafficking in relation to the running of a brothel at the Inn Town Lodge in Durban's Point area, have been sentenced in the Durban Magistrate's Court.
Sandile Zweni, Bhabha Dubazane and Nduduzo Dlamini were co-accused along with lodge owners, Dr Genchen Rugnuth and his wife Ravina. The owners have since been acquitted.

The three were also charged with sexual exploitation, racketeering, money laundering, kidnapping, rape, dealing in cocaine, as well as the sexual exploitation of children.
The National Prosecuting Authorities Natasha Ramkisson-Kara explains.
"The three accused were sentenced today in the Durban Regional Court. Accused one in the matter was sentenced to an effective 35-years imprisonment. Accused two and three were sentenced to an effective 25 years imprisonment each," she said.
