HPCSA: Majority of health practitioners not complying with development requirements
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The Health Professionals Council of South Africa has urged all registered healthcare practitioners to comply with development requirements to avoid being suspended from practising.

Continuing Professional Development requires health workers to update their expertise, competencies and knowledge while practising.
The council says the board is concerned that the majority of its practitioners are not complying with the CPD.
Meanwhile, an unregistered Congolese doctor has been arrested in Joburg for allegedly practising as a locum.
Nicola Seya was taken into custody last week during an inspection by members of the council and police in Northriding.
It was discovered that she was standing in for another doctor who's currently registered with HPCSA.
