Homeschooling an option for anxious parents: Angie Motshekga
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Parents who aren't comfortable sending their children back to school next month can choose to homeschool them.
Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga says that option is available.
If you still feel anxious and doubtful, it's understandable that you can't send your child to school. But that can't determine the future of every child.
Motshekga briefed the media last night on the phased reopening of the country's schools. She says concerned parents will have to enrol their children for homeschooling.

"If you decide not to school, The South African Schools Act allows you to homeschool but you have to register your child as homeschooling, you have to give your province the plan so they can supply you with the curriculum and exam plans," she said.
If parents want their child to repeat the grade in 2021 - they'll need to apply for it.
