Homes destroyed in Sea Cow Lake informal settlement fire

According to police, illegal electricity connections are suspected to be the cause of a fire that's broken out at an informal settlement in Sea Cow Lake in Durban.
The fire broke out earlier this afternoon with emergency services battling to douse the flames.
KZN Emergency Medical Services Spokesperson Robert McKenzie says multiple dwellings have been torched.

"Fortunately, at this stage is is reported that no one has been injured and firefighters continue to fight the blaze," he said.
Police remain at the scene.
