Home Affairs clamping down on corruption, arrests imminent

The Department of Home Affairs says its on the lookout and
embarking on ongoing clampdowns on the use of fraudulent South African
documents.
This after officials arrested a Bangladeshi national this week while he was trying to leave the country through OR Tambo International with a fraudulent SA passport.
Further investigations revealed that the Bangladeshi national had applied for asylum in 2015, but his application was rejected.

Home Affairs spokesperson Siya Qoza says they have managed to trace where the passport was issued.
"We were able to trace the source of where the document was issued and which official issued it. This is official is one of the people who are on the radar of the corruption unit and their arrests are imminent."
