Three men, hired by the wife of a Port Shepstone cop to kill her husband, have begun serving their life sentences for the crime.
The body of warrant officer Thulani Ngwabe was found lying on railway lines near Port Shepstone beach after he was stabbed in November 2019.
Sithembiso Mbona, Saziso Khambule, and Nhlakanipho Ndovela were arrested in the Murchison area a month later.

Investigators had also realised the officer's wife Nonkululeko Ngwabe had ordered the hit on her husband.
She was sentenced in Pietermaritzburg to 22 years behind bars in 2021.
The other three were handed life sentences in Scottburgh this week.
KZN Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says the woman killed her husband for money.

"It was for selfish interests of financial gain because she wanted the house to fall under her name and to receive insurance policies. We know warrant officer Ngwabe was 51 years old, it tells that his service in the police was long."
