Hillary Gardee was shot in upper body, Mpumalanga police confirm

Police in Mpumalanga have now confirmed that the autopsy into Hillary Gardee has confirmed the 28-year-old woman was shot in the upper body.
The initial report stated that she was murdered with bruises on her body.
A manhunt is underway for the killers of Hillary Gardee, who was the daughter of former EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee.

The 28-year-old's body was found dumped in bushes outside Mbombela on Tuesday after she was first reported missing on Friday.
EFF leaders visited the family on Wednesday and confirmed that the autopsy report revealed that Hillary was shot in the head.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli says a team of different disciplines within the police has been assembled to investigate the matter.
"The investigation on the circumstances of how the victim was murdered is underway with a view to arrest whosoever is involved."

"The police in Mpumalanga are at no stage going to reveal the stages of the investigation to the public but to the relevant family.
"It is against this backdrop that police request space to investigate this gruesome murder without any disturbances," says Mdhluli.
