Hijacked vehicle ploughs into children in Inanda killing girl, 13

A case of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving is being investigated after a group of children were mowed down by a car in Inanda, north of Durban.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says they were walking along a road in the Emaplazini area on Monday night.

"The vehicle, which was travelling at high speed, lost control and knocked the children.
"The children were taken to hospital for medical attention. It was established that was hijacked in Newlands East," says Gwala.
A thirteen-year-old girl later died in hospital. Five others were hurt.
The suspects are still at large.
