High profile trial against Magashule and co-accused postponed again
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The corruption matter against suspended African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Ace Magashule and 10 co-accused has been postponed again until next month.
Judge Cagney Musi ordered that the accused be back in court on 3 November for the pre-trial to commence.
“The matter is then postponed for a pre-trial to the third November. All the natural persons bail is extended and they are warned to appear in this court again at 9:00 in the morning.”
Among those charged are businessman Edwin Sodi.
Magashule and his co-accused have been charged with theft, corruption and money laundering relating to a R255 million asbestos tender.
Only R21 million of the allocated money was used by a sub-contractor to audit asbestos houses in the Free State.
This all happened when Magashule was still Premier of the Free State.
However, Magashule has maintained his innocence in the asbestos corruption case.
Speaking to journalists outside High Court, Magashule said he was not involved in the matter.
