High Court rules KZN ANC elective conference unlawful
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Pietermaritzburg High Court has ruled that the results of the ANC's provincial elective conference in 2015 were unlawful.
Former premier, Senzo Mchunu, was ousted as chairperson and replaced by KZN chair, Sihle Zikalala in the party's eighth conference.
Mchunu supporters later came forward demanding the results be declared null and void - they felt there had been irregularities in the voting process.

Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu who's with the KZN ANC Women's League says they're hoping the ANC leadership will appeal the decision.
"Even if it doesn't appease the decision and we are forced to go back to the conference - we believe the leadership elected in 2015, was duly elected. We believe that even when we go back to court tomorrow, the results are going to be the same," she says.
The court gave the ANC KZN leadership 15 days to lodge appeals against the ruling.
