High Court rules against Mkhwebane, Gordhan
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The High Court in Pretoria has dismissed both Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's appeal and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan's cross-appeal in the Ivan Pillay matter.

The pair appealed part of the ruling on the early retirement package granted to former South African Revenue Service deputy commissioner Ivan Pillay.
In December last year a full bench of the high court overturned Mkhwebane’s report, which found Pravin Gordhan had irregularly approved the early retirement in 2010.

Gordhan was finance minister at the time.
In her report, Mkhwebane recommended that President Cyril Ramaphosa take disciplinary action against Gordhan.
In Wednesday ruling, the same court said it was of the view that there were no reasonable prospects for a successful appeal.
The appeals were dismissed with costs.
