Heroin worth over R87 million seized in Hluhluwe

The crime-fighting unit, Hawks, says more than 300kgs of heroin powder, with a street value of about R87.5 million, have been seized in an operation in Hluhluwe, on the north coast.
Officials teamed up with the Mpumalanga Crime Intelligence members to stop the drugs from making its way to KZN.
Three people, a truck driver and two passengers, were nabbed in the late night operation.

Two hundred and fifty packets of the drugs were found hidden inside a freshly painted partition in the vehicle.
The truck was being driven from Mozambique, via Swaziland.
The trio will appear in court on Thursday.
