Heroin worth over R1 million seized in Pongola

Heroin said to be worth over a million rand has been seized in northern KwaZulu-Natal after police intercepted a vehicle.
The Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit received information about drugs that were going to be transported.
The vehicle was said to be coming from Durban and taking the narcotics to Gauteng.
The police kept watch for any possible movement overnight.

They spotted the vehicle this morning travelling on the N2 in Pongola.
The officers stopped the driver and found 6kg of raw packed heroin - disguised as coffee when they searched the vehicle.
A 28-year-old suspect has been arrested.
