Heidelberg father who ‘poisoned’ sons dies in hospital

The Heidelberg father who allegedly poisoned four of his
five children, killing three, has passed away in hospital.

The 39-year-old man died on Friday.
Two of the children died at school, a third died on the way to the hospital, and a fourth was admitted to a hospital in a serious condition.
The fifth boy had refused the drink.

He was found unconscious at his home after he allegedly tried to commit suicide.
"We can confirm that Veli Samuel Ngcongwane, 39 years old, the father charged with the murder and attempted murder of his children following a poisoning incident died in hospital on 10 June,” says Gauteng police spokesperson Brenda Muridili.
