The South African Weather Service has issued a weather alert for heavy rains and severe thunderstorms in parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.
The weather service says heavy rains are expected to hammer most parts of KZN which may lead to localised flooding.
But, it says localised flooding will not affect the north east parts of the province.
However, SAWS says there's a possibility of severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours in the north east parts of KZN.
"We are expecting an 80% chance of showers and thundershowers, but they will be mostly over the north east parts of the province. We are talking about areas like uMkhanyakude, Zululand, and King Cithwayo District Municipalities," weather forecaster, Ayanda Nsele said.
Watch:14/04/2020 13h00 TO:15/04/2020 03h00 Severe Thunderstorms- are expected over the north-eastern parts of KZN on Tuesday into Wednesday early morning.

"Although the province is on lockdown, the MEC has assured residents that disaster management teams are on standby and will be able to respond should any need arise."
