The SA Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday.

Forecaster Thandiwe Gumede says they're expecting heavy rainfall, accompanied by strong, damaging winds and excessive lighting.
She's warned of localised flooding affecting roads, low-lying regions, and bridges. Possible structural damage can be expected as well.

"The north-western parts of KwaZulu Natal will include areas like Ladysmith, Newcastle, Escourt and possibly proceeding all the way to areas like Vryheid," says Gumede.
Meanwhile, eThekwini says the storm that rocked parts of KZN in the early hours of Thursday morning brought down trees in parts of Durban.
The Upper Highway, Westville, Reservoir Hills and Durban central, are among the areas affected. The municipality says its teams will make their way through these areas to clear blockages and obstructions.
It has urged motorists to be extra careful when driving.
