The EFF's Godrich Gardee - who is also in attendance - spoke out before proceedings got underway.

There is a heavy police presence at the courthouse.

A small group of EFF members have also started to gathered the court, singing and moving around - with security monitoring all entry to and exits from the courtroom.

The report, which looks into alleged State Capture by the controversial Gupta family, has also captured the attention of international media - some of whom have joined local news crews at the proceedings.

Former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela was meant to release her report last month. However, Van Rooyen and Zuma interdicted the report - preventing her from releasing it as planned.

The report is being kept under lock and key by the new Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane and her team.
