Hawks welcome John Block sentence
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The Hawks have welcomed the sentence handed down to the ANC's former Northern Cape chairperson, John Block.

The 49-year-old - who was also the former MEC for Finance, Tourism and Economic Affairs in the province - was sentenced to 15 years yesterday, along with CEO of the Trifecta Group - Christo Scholtz.
The pair were convicted of fraud and corruption in December last year - on charges related to their involvement in inflating prices on the lease agreement between them and the Northern Cape Department of Social Development.
The Hawks say a forfeiture order of R2-million was made against Block, while R53-million was made against Scholtz and the Trifecta group.
Hawks head, Mthandazo Ntlemeza, applauded officers who worked on the lengthy investigation.
