Hawks taps into Interpol in pursuit of Bushiris
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Hawks have applied for a red notice with Interpol in their pursuit of Shepard and Mary Bushiri.
Hawks spokesperson, Katlego Mogale says it will allow them to interact with their counterparts in Malawi.
"The notice basically ensures that if a fugitive on the run is in a different country, they can provisionally arrest that person.

She adds that then certain documents must be handed over from the country that is had applied for the notice to enable that person to be extradited to where he committed the crime.
It comes after a warrant of arrest was yesterday issued for the couple who skipped bail and fled to Malawi, claiming they fear for their safety.
"Conditions of the warrant for arrests is that they present themselves by Thursday and if they fail to do so, their house in South Africa will be forfeited to the state," She said.
