Hawks probe into Zuma's son, Guptas confirmed: DA
The DA says that it's received confirmation that the Hawks will be investigating corruption allegations against two Gupta brothers as well as Duduzane Zuma, the son of the president.
The party laid criminal charges following bombshell allegations by Deputy Finance Minister, Mcebisi Jonas. Jonas revealed that the Guptas, at a meeting with Duduzane Zuma, had offered him the job of Finance Minister before Nhlanhla Nene was sacked.
He said he rejected the offer. DA MP, David Maynier, says he's been told that Hawks investigator, Major-General Zinhle Mnonopi, will be leading the probe.
"I have now been officially informed that the Hawks will be investigating the charges of corruption in terms of the Prevention of Corrupt Activities Act laid against Atul Gupta, Ajay Gupta and Duduzane Zuma.
"The allegations amount to prima facie evidence of corruption and are serious and I hope that the Hawks will investigate this matter without fear, favour or prejudice," he said.
