Hawks probe EC cop's murder

Police say the body of the 35-year-old officer was found yesterday on a farm between For Beaufort and Seymour. The officer was still dressed in his uniform. A search was initiated when the officer failed to arrive for work. 

Hawks spokesperson Hang-wani Muluadzi says a high-level task team is now probing the incident.

"Our members managed to seize a laptop which has since been linked to a hijacking of another vehicle in Hogsback last week Friday. 

''The vehicle was found smashed in Hogback and indications are that the member who was killed happened to be at the wrong place at a wrong time. 

There is a high level task team of detectives that has been assembled to probe this incident. We are hoping that soon we'll make a breakthrough in this case,'' he said.
