Hatfield shooting: TMPD officer granted bail
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
Tshwane Metro Police (TMPD) Constable Takatso Mashego has been granted bail in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court.

Mashego was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing a man near the Gautrain station in Hatfield, Pretoria a week ago.
Earlier this week, the 26 year-old's legal representative, Peter Jay, said Mashego was provoked.
"There was without a doubt a lot of provocation. My client told me that he was bumped by the deceased's vehicle twice and that he has not received any medical attention," said Jay.
Meanwhile, TMPD spokesperson Isaac Mahamba says no decision has been made yet regarding his suspension.
"We don't want to pronounce at this stage whether he will be suspended or not. We will go back after he has been granted bail and determine as a department whether he deserves to be suspended or not," says Mahamba.
Mashego has been granted R5000 bail.
The case has been postponed until 8 February for further investigation.
