Gym, fitness industry not worried over new restrictions
Updated | By Andrew Robertson
The gym and fitness industry says the new closing times for the sector - issued in the latest government gazette - will not affect them too much.

The amended Covid-19 regulations were published on Thursday. It's reduced the closing times for establishments such as gyms, fitness centres and swimming pools by an hour - to 9pm daily.
Gatherings at these places are capped at 100 indoors and 250 outdoors.
Fit SA's Grant Austin says gyms are a minuscule part in the transmission of Covid-19 and that gyms should not be deemed as a 'spreader.'
"It has been proven around the world that gyms are not part of the problem and that we are part of the solution. We have been following international trends and we see gyms contribute to the strengthening of the immune system", he said.
"I think everyone realizes that our healthy immune systems are what protects us from the virus", Austin said.
