Gumede lays criminal complaint over instigator accusations

Former eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede's laid a formal complaint with the police against those pointing fingers at her as being an unrest instigator.

She's referenced social media posts saying certain individuals with a political agenda against her have accused her of being one of the instigators or associated with them.
In a statement to the media, she's called the allegations a cowardly attack on her personal and political integrity.

She's also asked Inanda police to investigate, saying that she and her family are facing security threats as a result of these malicious claims.
Gumede says she's a responsible member of the ANC.
She has expressed her support for those who've suffered losses in the violence and looting in KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Gauteng last week.
