Gumede, co-accused back in court in March
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Former eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede and 21 others have pleaded not guilty to over 2 700 fraud and corruption related charges in the Durban High Court.
The charges relate to a multi-million rand Durban Solid Waste tender.
It's alleged that supply chain management processes on a Durban Solid Waste tender were avoided to benefit identified service providers to the tune of R300 million.
On Tuesday, state prosecutor Ashika Lucken continued putting the charges to the accused after reading the indictment into the record yesterday.
The NPA's Natasha Kara says the matter has now been postponed for arguments in the trial.
”The matter was adjourned to 6 March 2023 for evidence. And then in respect of all the accused, bail was extended.”
