Guard shot multiple times in Umlazi CIT robbery

A 41-year-old security officer is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot during a cash-in-transit heist in Umlazi, south of Durban.
The robbery took place in R Section on Tuesday.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen says the man is in a critical condition.
"The man had suffered multiple high calibre gunshot wounds."

"Advanced Life Support intervention was needed to stabilise him and a call was made for the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter to airlift the man to a specialist facility for the definitive care that he required.
"The South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly."
Police have yet to comment on other details around the heist.
