Cultural group opposes plans to tackle burial space crisis
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Traditional Healers Association in KZN says if it has to, it will take legal action against the eThekwini Municipality to prevent it from allowing the burial of more than one body in a single grave.

The municipality has maintained it's fast running out of burial space with some cemeteries having already reached capacity.
It says it's now considering allowing the practice of placing more than one body one grave.
But the association's Sphephile Maseko has blasted the plan, saying it is blatant disregard for the traditions and beliefs of many cultures.
"Human Rights supersede every right in this country. You cannot say cultural rights are less important than development. What sort of development disregards culture and rights of people to exist.
"You can't allow government to do this. It means government has double standards," she said.
