Grounding of SAA flights will have dire consequences: Analyst

An analyst has warned that the cancellation of flights at South African Airways (SAA) will have a negative impact on domestic travel.
On Tuesday, the airline grounded various flights to save money and due to low demand.
A total of 28 flights between Durban and Johannesburg; and Cape Town and Johannesburg were cancelled.

SAA has since turned to its sister airline Mango to accommodate stranded commuters.
On the international network, services between Johannesburg and Munich, Germany were also halted.
SAA is struggling to stay afloat as it desperately waits for a R2 billion government bailout.
The carrier was placed under business rescue in December, to save it from financial collapse.
