A Pietermaritzburg paediatrician, who was found murdered in her car, has been laid to rest.

Family and friends paid tribute to Dr Zamambo Mkhize at the Mount Zion Christian Centre in Hammarsdale yesterday.
The mother-of-two was reported missing, after she failed to return home from work last month.
The 39-year-old's body was later found in the boot of her vehicle in Imbali.

She had been shot. A doctor who worked with her at the Harry Gwala Hospital, Lungile Memele says they are baffled and shocked by her senseless killing.
"Pain and sadness, it’s all in one. A young female, her life has been taken. I'm furious that children are left without a mother. I'm furious that the police are not able to protect us.
I know that it is very irrational of me to think that the police could have been there at that time but I'm very furious that they are not able to protect us as females in South Africa."
