Grant collectors reminded of changes to payment date
The SA Social Security Agency is reminding grant beneficiaries of changes to the payment schedule necessitated by the local government elections.
SASSA spokesperson, Kgomoco Diseko, says social grant payments at designated pay points have been brought forward and will take place between the 27th and the 29th of this month.
Diseko says there will be no payments at pay points from the August 1 and August 3, which is election day.
He says grant payment at regular pay points will recommence on August 4.
Diseko says grant beneficiaries who use banks, ATMs and stores will not be affected by the change in schedule.
"This arrangement has been done because the local government elections are coinciding with our normal dates of payment.
"Another thing is that most of the voting stations we use as pay points so to run away from that problem we have changed the date for payments," he said.
