Gran speaks out after child's brutal rape
The girl who was found in bushes with a rope around her neck is receiving treatment in hospital.
The girl's grandmother has told Newswatch she left her sleeping when she went to the shops on Saturday morning.
She returned home to find the lock to the door broken and the girl missing.
A police manhunt ensued with community members finding the girl.
"I was really scared. I remember crying thinking whoever has her will definitely kill her. I mean, who abducts a child, and allows her to live thereafter? Everyone was was worried about that, and so was I, very much so," she said.
Officers are still searching for the suspect.
