Grandmother, grandchildren hacked to death near PMB, relative arrested

A 46-year-old woman and her two grandchildren have been hacked to death at their home in Hopewell, near Pietermaritzburg.

Authorities say the victims were attacked with a bushknife by someone known to them early this morning.
The children were five and eight-years-old.

Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says it's understood at this stage that the attack was as a result of a domestic dispute.
Gwala says a 73-year-old man was placed under arrest and has been charged with murder.
He will appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court tomorrow.
