Grace period for expired licences extended to next year

The validity of some licences that have expired or are soon to expire has been extended by several months.

If the expiry date of your learner's licence, driver's licence, temporary driver's licence and professional driving permit falls between the 26th of March 2020 and the 31 of December 2020, it will remain valid for a grace period ending on the 31 of August next year.

The amendment to the regulations made by Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula, has been gazetted today.
This means it comes into effect immediately.
