Govt working with family of SA man killed in Nairobi attacks
The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) has confirmed a South African has been killed in the terror attacks in Kenya.
A South African, Luke Potter, was among the fourteen people killed when Al-Shabaab attacked a hotel and office complex in Nairobi on Tuesday.
The department’s spokesperson, Ndivhuwo Mabaya says Potter had dual citizenship between South Africa and Britain, and entered Kenya via his British passport.
“We have asked the High Commissioner in Nairobi to work closely with authorities.”

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said during a press conference on Wednesday that the gunmen who stormed a luxury hotel complex had been "eliminated".
“His family has access to emergency documents to travel to Kenya, they can travel they will find the High Commissioner to assist them. Dirco has become the centre of communication,” says Mabaya.
Mabaya couldn’t provide details as to when Potter’s body will be repatriated. The 40-year-old visited Nairobi for charitable work for Gatsby Charitable Foundation.
“Luke had devoted the past ten years of his career to helping some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world,” reads a statement by the company.
