'Govt won't implement free education': Fees activist

Some Durban-based student activists are of the view free education won't happen any time soon.

They believe the commission looking into the feasibility of free education is merely a delay tactic from government. 


At press briefing in Durban today, local Fees Must Fall activists demanded the release of DUT student - Bonginkosi Khanyile.

He was arrested last year during violent students protests over fees. 


Khanyile is facing charges linked to public violence, illegal gathering an inciting violence. 


EFF student leader, Gazuzu Nduli, say the fees commission is not genuine.


The Fees Must Fall student leaders have vowed to stop at nothing until 'free' and 'decolonised' education is realised.
