Govt needs to invest more in AI at schools, says expert
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
An education expert says the government needs to prioritise the rollout of Artificial Intelligence courses in schools to boost future employment prospects for pupils.

Professor Vimolan Mudaly says this will help pupils familiarise themselves with AI tools.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga said earlier this month that last year's Grade 12s achieved impressive results in their Maths and Science exams.
Mudaly, who's with the University of KwaZulu-Natal, says with technology continually evolving AI skills are crucial.
"I think this is critical because with AI taking over almost the entire world, I think our children are going to lack behind in terms of that, and their future is going to be compromised, and I think that is where we need to start investing a lot more for our children."
