Govt gives green light for 2 000 fans to attend Bafana game

Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has gazetted regulations which allow fans back into stadiums.
A total of 2 000 fans will be allowed to attend Bafana Bafana’s World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.
This would be the first time fans are allowed back into stadiums since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020.
According to the new regulations, 750 spectators will now be permitted for closed sporting venues, while 2000 spectators will be allowed in open sporting facilities.
Last week the South African Football Association (SAFA) and the Department of Health announced that the venue would be opened to fully vaccinated fans.
