Govt given 7 days to respond to healthcare worker’s grievances
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Unemployed healthcare workers, who staged a march in Pretoria, have given the government seven days to respond to their grievances.

They want the Health Department and Treasury to urgently address the unemployment crisis affecting medical staff nationwide.
A group of doctors participated in the protest march to the Union Buildings on Monday.
It comes two weeks after some medical doctors in Pietermaritzburg demonstrated against corruption and questioned the department's hiring practices.
Medical officer Pamela Jali says the government must explain why doctors aren't being hired despite understaffed facilities.
"We are demanding jobs for healthcare workers. Our healthcare faculties are receiving the short end of the stick, and they are understaffed."
