Govt to assist family of SA man killed in Jordan

The Department of International Relations has confirmed the killing of a 37-year-old South African man in Jordan yesterday.
This after a trainee Jordanian policemen reportedly shot him, two Americans and wounded six other people at a US-funded facility for training Iraqi and Palestinian security forces on the outskirts of the capital Amman.
Spokesperson Nelson Kgwete took to social media, tweeting that the South African Embassy in Jordan had confirmed the death of a South African citizen.
Kgwete says the 37-year-old man was from Gauteng and worked for an American security company.
He later said the man's next-of-kin have been informed of his death adding that the government will provide the required consular assistance to the family.
