Government is taking firm stand against corruption: Jackson Mthembu
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu says PPE money stolen through corruption by 'unscrupulous companies and individuals' will be recovered.

He's been briefing the media on the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting held earlier this week.
"What is distressing and disappointing is that this form of corruption as the president as said robs the poor," said Mthembu.
Several politicians and their families are said to have scored big from Covid-19 personal protective equipment procurement.

Mthembu insists government is taking a firm stand against corruption.
"We had reiterated this commitment to ensure that allegations of corruption relating to COVID-19 procurement are swiftly investigated by law enforcement agencies such as the special investigating unit. Those implicated must be severely punished," he said.
He says the team tasked with dealing with Covid-19 related corruption will deliver its first report to President Cyril Ramaphosa next week.
