Government sheds light on Covid vaccine injury scheme
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
We've been given a clearer picture of how the country's no-fault vaccine scheme will work.

COGTA Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has released the regulations that apply to those who suffer harm as a result of the Covid jab.
In the document, she says the skeem's purpose is to provide easy access to compensation for those who suffer harm, loss or damage as a result of the Covid-19 jab.
Vaccine injuries that are covered by the skeem are severe - resulting in permanent or significant injury.
It must also cause serious harm to a person's health, other serious damage or death.

The regulations say only vaccines registered and approved by SAHPRA - are covered.
The Health Minister's going to let us know when the Johnson & Johnson vaccine rollout will resume.
It was put on hold earlier this month - after US health regulators recommended pausing the jab over blood clot concerns.
Under two million Pfizer shots will arrive next month.
If you're over 60, you can register for the second phase of the vaccine roll out via the EVD system online.
