Girl writes heartbreaking letter to Santa

An Australian girl has written the most heart-wrenching letter to Father Christmas received by charity organisation, Mothers Against Drugs. See it below.
In the letter the girl - whose identity has been withheld - asks Santa for 'a guinea pig to love', school books and a school bag. The Queensland resident continues to request 'dad not to hurt mom'.
Mothers Against Drugs founder, says the organisation receives many letters of the same nature from children in the region.
A survey from the Australian Bureau of Statistics states that only 500 000 women report domestic abuse in the country.
The local newspaper Gold Coast Bulletin within which the story was initially published has since received dozens of calls offering assistance to the 12-year-old and her family.
