German tourist found dead in Margate

An inquest docket's been opened into the death of a German man on the south coast.

Netcare 911 spokesperson, Paul Herbst says they found the 66-year-old lying on the ground on a golf course in Margate.
"An elderly male, believed to be of German nationality - visiting South Africa - had sustained severe head trauma after being assaulted by an unknown person while playing golf. The patient was found to have no signs of life and was declared dead on the scene."

While paramedics say he had suffered severe head trauma in the Saturday assault - police couldn't confirm this saying a post-mortem is yet to determine the cause of death.
